Easily Construct Your Own Closet Door Trim And Other Home Projects
Many new construction homes are built with a more open floor plan. It seems like in many of them that the Closet Door Trim is a thing of the past. Builders are now creating the closet door space by having each side meet like the corner of a wall, so there is no need for the wooden trim that in the past was just expected. Now, it is just a luxury. If you are having a home built or have purchased a previously owned home that is missing the trim around the closets, then there is a way to add it.
It is not a lot of trouble to add Closet Door Trim if you want it. You will have to find the metal beads that were placed around the frame of the door. It is most likely under the sheet rock around the doorway. Sheet rock is just another name for the drywall. You can place some casing and moulding and add a customized wooden frame, or trim, around the door.
If you want to add a dog door to your kitchen, outside or garage door, then you can frame it just as easily after cutting the properly-sized opening for your pet. The idea is the same as framing a closet door, only smaller. Once you learn how to do it, you will find that you may get excited about other home improvements.

If you have a handle or doorknob on your closet, you will have to measure carefully so the mirror will fit correctly. It doesn't have to be too expensive, you can find a cheap mirror with a nice frame that hangs nicely on your closet door. If you have the energy and want to add to the quality of your home's doors, you may want to consider beautiful wood-grain fiberglass for the front entrance. They are beautiful, never rot or fade and can be fashioned to look as fancy or as simple as you would like. You may find that there are several companies that will come and install the door for you. Between the Closet Door Trim, Doggie-doors, and beautiful front door in your home, you will be satisfied when it is all completed. |
